Thalia Restaurant

Befitting its Theater District locale, the 5,000 square food dining room has a dramatic motif with rich woods, wine cabinets and hand blown glass perched on a backlit display. With soaring columns, it does not offer great sightlines, but what you gain in the trade off is comfortably spaced tables and a modicum of privacy. Former Les Celebrites Chef Robert Weiner moves away from the fusiony musings of former chef Michael Otsuka to bring a french touch to the food.Œ

Thalia's Restaurant met all expectations of a perfect dinner my date and I were looking for. My boyfriend wanted to take me to a romantic dinner; the ambience of candle lighting, music, high ceilings and asian decor provided a very seductive atmosphere. A great variety of dishes, including Alaskan oysters, rich crabcakes, and Steak Frites- mouth watering Black Angus steak- gave us plenty of options to choose from. The service is what made the date complete. The waiter was prompt, had perfect timing on when to check on us; he was very enthusiastic above all. He wanted to make our experience the best we've had, and it showed. He even looked up a bar we planned on going to after dinner to get reservations and an address, to our surprise. We will go to Thalia again most definitely!
